Ae you frustrated by this?
So many of the leaders and managers we speak to are too.
I know you have the right intentions, but does it sometimes feel like you’re banging your head against the wall wondering why nothing you’re doing is making a difference?
It’s not your fault.
For some reason, organisations instinctively offer training when someone is new to a role, but they don’t offer training when someone is promoted to people management.
So, let me ask, which of these (very scary) stats from Lorman do you fit into?
- 59% of managers who oversee 1-2 employees and 41% of managers who oversee 3-5 report having no training at all.
- Nearly 50% of managers with over 10 years of experience claim they’ve only received about nine hours of training.
- 43% of managers who have been in their role for less than a year say they’ve had no training.
Add to this the fact that 1 in 2 employees have left their job to get away from a manager at some point in their career (Gallup) and we’ve got a big problem!
This is why I created the Effective Manager Program.
Business performance and employee engagement (along with heaps of other things like productivity and profitability) hinge on manager effectiveness, yet we aren’t offering them training.
When 70% of the variance between the highest engaged teams and persistently disengaged teams comes down to the manager, can you afford not to invest?
Our next cohort of The Effective Manager Program starts on 19th July. Others have already signed up, don’t be the one to miss out.
