Effective Communication

$300 (plus GST)

Do you think you’re a good listener? Do you listen for the unsaid, read facial expressions and non-verbal cues?

What about your questions? Do you use open questions to facilitate meaningful conversations and connection? Do you know what an open question is?

In this session, you’ll work to understand what effective listening and questioning looks like, and the importance of both behaviours. We will explore the unspoken elements of communication, the different levels of listening, micro expressions, and examine unconscious bias and the role it plays in communication. We’ll then discuss the elements that come in to play around presence, and how you can be more in control of the way you show up in conversation.

By the end of this session, you’ll be able to:

– Identify and understand the unspoken elements of communication, such as body language, facial expressions and presence
– Understand the difference between open and closed questions, and the importance of open questions
– Identify the various levels of listening and effectively demonstrate active listening
– Understand the role, and impact, that unconscious bias plays in communication
